Experience Reumert Prize winner Aviana Steinbacher's raw and moving monologue as she takes the stage at Kunsten. Through words, movement inspired by Greenlandic mask dance, humour and vulnerability, she explores life as a young Greenlandic woman in Denmark – and examines questions of identity, belonging, love and racism.
Aviana Steinbacher, trained at the School of Acting at Greenland's National Theatre, has appeared in several theatre productions and the DR youth series Salsa. In 2023, she was awarded Talent of the Year at the Reumert Awards for her role in the production I Carry My Soul.
The performance is part of a collaboration between Kunsten and The Greenlandic House in Aalborg and connects to the exhibition Heart Beats Hope featuring photographs by Inuuteq Storch, which shows Greenland from the inside.
