The Fascinating World of Ferns

Discover a fascinating introduction to the history, biology and potential of ferns in the garden. Anne Marie Sindberg, former educator, lecturer and perennial gardener, takes you on a journey through the refined and mysterious world of ferns and shows why these ancient garden plants offer so much more than just shade-tolerant greenery.

The lecture explores the Victorian 'Fern Craze' of the 19th century and its significance, as well as the unique reproductive methods of ferns. You will gain insight into the diversity of species through numerous photographs from private gardens, especially from western Jutland, and learn how ferns define spring with their characteristic, intricate emergence. This event may be the start of a North Jutland revival of fern enthusiasm.

Coffee, tea and cake are included in the ticket price. Admission: 180 kr (members of the garden society: 120 kr).
