Folk University, the World Goals Centre, and Aalborg Libraries invite you to an important lecture on democracy today. Danish society has undergone enormous transformations in the past 25 years – inequality has grown, the media have been digitally revolutionized, political tempo has accelerated, and global currents are affecting us constantly. All these changes raise questions about how we maintain a robust form of self-government.
Meet Professor Anne Skorkjær Binderkrantz, who on the basis of her book Politics for Professionals presents how Danish politics has become increasingly professionalized. Professionalization can strengthen politics through better knowledge and efficiency – but it also raises critical questions: what does it mean when political influence increasingly requires money, networks, and expertise?
The lecture is based on the results of Power Study 2.0, which is published in book series at Aarhus University Press and is also presented in the podcast series The Hunt for Power.
