Join this lecture exploring how young people navigate the digital landscape and what parents can do to support them constructively. The lecture examines platforms such as TikTok, Snapchat, Discord and gaming universes that form natural parts of young people's social lives and communication, as well as the risks they present: algorithmic manipulation, artificial friendships, conflicts and harassment.
Merete Dalsgaard from the Center for Digital Pedagogy shares 20 years of experience working with children, young people and parents. You will receive practical tools, research-based knowledge and answers to questions such as: How can you be a good digital role model? What is our responsibility as adults? And what do young people themselves think about their parents' digital behaviour?
The lecture lasts approximately 90 minutes with interactive exercises and the opportunity to ask questions throughout. The programme will be tailored based on whether you are a parent of primary school children or upper secondary students – please select your category when registering.
