Dino/Eger/Tonnam is a newly formed trio where three remarkable musicians from three continents meet in a bold jazz fusion universe. The concert takes place on November 28 at Huset in Aalborg.
The trio consists of Danish saxophonist Jakob Dinesen, Norwegian-Swedish drummer Anton Eger, and Thai keyboardist Warit Tonnam. Together they explore a modern, adventurous form of jazz fusion with a repertoire created and developed collectively by all three members. The music balances between jazz's classical foundation, spontaneous improvisation, and contemporary fusion style.
About the musicians
Jakob Dinesen is regarded as one of Europe's leading jazz saxophonists. He has won the award "Danish Jazz Album of the Year" four times, most recently in 2025 for the album Slow Flow. Among his collaborators are legendary musicians such as Paul Motian, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Jeff "Tain" Watts, as well as many African and Cuban artists. Dinesen's music is rooted in jazz tradition while being characterized by constant exploration of new musical possibilities.
Anton Eger is known for his work with the innovative Danish-Swedish-Norwegian jazz fusion project RKDIA and is considered a central figure on the European jazz scene. In 2020 he was named "Danish Jazz Musician of the Year" at the Danish Music Awards. He works with complex rhythmic patterns and emphasizes improvisation and experimental sound qualities, as documented on his acclaimed debut album Æ, which received government support for development.
Warit Tonnam is a keyboardist from Thailand who has made a strong mark on the modern jazz and improvisation scene in both Asia and Europe. He was originally heading toward a career in classical music but found his creative home in jazz. As an instrumentalist, he brings virtuosity and curiosity about jazz's artistic possibilities.
The trio will release their debut album on Sundance Records in autumn 2026. The concert at Huset is part of the subsequent release tour.
