The legendary ensemble Huun-Huur-Tu from Tuva in Central Asia performs at Huset Aalborg on November 7th. The group is among the world's most renowned interpreters of traditional throat singing and is known for its extraordinary vocal techniques: khöömei, sygyt, and kargyraa. Through these unique singing methods, they create a fascinating sound universe filled with overtones, deep vibrations, and hypnotic melodies.
The ensemble consists of Kaigal-ool Khovalyg, Radik Tyulyush, Alexei Saryglar, and Sayan Bapa, who combine their voices with traditional instruments such as igyl, byzaanchi, khomuz, and shaman drum. Their music bridges Tuva's ancient musical traditions and the modern world stage, where they have toured for decades, performed hundreds of concerts, and collaborated with artists across many musical genres. The sound is both earthy and almost otherworldly, inspired by nature, horses, landscape, and Tuva's spiritual heritage.
