Aalborg TRYOUT invites young people and students to try Aalborg Self-Defence and Jiu-Jitsu club's introductory class in self-defence for women, starting 24th September. Places are limited, so remember to sign up or cancel if circumstances change.
Violence against women has particular characteristics that differ from violence against men – this distinction is crucial for the strategies and techniques you will learn. The training is about reducing your risk of violence, assault and boundary violations. The aim is to foster a mindset where you actively work on what you yourself can do to reduce the risk of ending up in dangerous or boundary-crossing situations.
Training takes place in a safe, private setting at Vesterkærets School's gymnasium, where only women are present. Teaching is led by the club's own female instructor and covers self-defence and violence prevention broadly, based on each woman's resources and experiences.
