The internationally acclaimed photographer Inuuteq Storch (b. 1989, Sisimiut, Greenland) presents his first solo exhibition at Kunsten. Following his acclaimed representation of Denmark with "Rise of The Sunken Sun" at the Venice Biennale 2024, Storch unfolds his extensive body of work here.
Through a sensitive lens, Storch depicts life in Greenland – raw and poetic images that unite the traditional and the contemporary. His portraits, everyday scenes, and landscapes explore Arctic environments from an insider's perspective, reflecting on Greenlandic identity, Inuit traditions, Danish colonial heritage, climate crisis, and globalization.
Storch works frequently with analog photography and blends his own images with found photographs and archival material. The exhibition is structured as a book in seven chapters – five based on existing works in new formats, plus two chapters featuring never-before-exhibited photographs. A collaboration with Bonnefanten Museum, Maastricht, which will present the exhibition in spring 2027.
