Experience Grammy-winning pianist Kevin Hays on an intimate evening filled with jazz, improvisation, and musical presence at Kunsten. Hays is a prominent figure on the international jazz scene and has established himself over several decades as a sophisticated voice moving between the artistic and the immediate, with melody and improvisation at the center.
As pianist, composer, and vocalist, Hays has worked with some of jazz's greatest names, among them Sonny Rollins, Roy Haynes, Joe Henderson, Joshua Redman, Chris Potter, Brad Mehldau, Steve Gadd, and Lionel Loueke. He has performed on legendary stages such as Village Vanguard and Carnegie Hall and toured as pianist for singer-songwriter James Taylor. The New York Times described his playing briefly and poignantly: "A jolt of joy".
Kunsten offers a truly special experience where audiences meet a world-class musician in the museum's intimate setting. Come earlier in the day to explore the collection – regular tickets and student tickets provide museum access from 10 am. After the concert, you can end the evening at Brasserie Kunsten with beer, wine, cake, and snacks.
