A musical celebration where classical and contemporary perspectives meet in a refined evening with Carl Nielsen's works at the center. Four highly accomplished musicians blend traditional masterworks with experimental sound art, creating a dialogue between past and present.
Violinist Clara Richter-Bæk, concertmaster of the Randers Chamber Orchestra, and concert pianist Emil Gryesten unfold classical sonata works by Carl Nielsen, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Leos Janáček. Afterwards, the Cort Lunde duo – trumpeter Erik Lunde and bassist/electronics artist Thomas Cortes – take over with an innovative approach, where electronic textures, improvisation, and acoustic instruments merge in a personal and boundary-pushing expression.
About the Musicians
- Clara Richter-Bæk has been concertmaster of the Randers Chamber Orchestra since 2007 and previously served as associate concertmaster of the Odense Symphony Orchestra. She is an award winner in the Danish Violin Competition and recipient of the Youth Sonning Prize. As a soloist, she has performed on Danish Radio and with the country's leading orchestras.
- Emil Gryesten is a pianist with extensive international concert activity. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, and debuted at Carnegie Hall. He works as an adjunct in piano and chamber music at the Music Academy.
- Cort Lunde is a duo consisting of Thomas Cortes (bass, electronics) and Erik Lunde (trumpet), who create musical interpretations of nature and culture through research-based processes, instrumental synergy, and digital manipulation – a highly original jazz-electronica universe.
