Lars Jansson brings his trio to Den Rytmiske in Nordkraft for an evening of refined musicianship. On stage with pianist Jansson is his son Poul Svanberg on drums and bassist Thomas Fonnesbæk – experienced musicians who have developed an intimate musical partnership around Jansson's compositions over many years.
Jansson is one of Sweden's most respected musicians. In the 1970s, he was keyboardist in the Swedish afro-jazz-rock band EGBA, achieving considerable success. He later shifted focus to the grand piano, where his talents flourish best. His musical language reveals a special gift for blending Swedish melancholy with contemporary American jazz – a combination that gives his work distinctive depth and poetic quality.
At this concert, audiences can expect his finest compositions, and possibly a selection of numbers from the tribute recording to Jørgen Emborg, Swan Songs (Stunt Records, 2022), on which Jansson also performed.
