Following the tradition of parish evening gatherings, this closing event of the year invites guests indoors to celebrate the Christmas season and advent period, when darkness falls early and warmth and cosiness gather the participants together.
Singer Margrethe Smedegaard, accompanied by musician Ole Sloth, presents a selection of beautiful Christmas hymns and carols. The audience is invited to participate actively in communal singing of beloved Danish Christmas songs. A short Christmas story may also find its place on the programme.
As a special entertainment element, a guessing competition about Christmas songs is arranged. Margrethe and Ole select the songs, and among the competition participants, a draw for prizes takes place before the evening's final song. Entry fee for the competition is 25 kr. per person, and all funds are donated to this year's Christmas relief fund, which is distributed in December.
