When darkness falls over Lindholm Høje, the burial ground comes to life. On the evening of Friday, October 30th, you can meet Vikings and farmers from centuries past, who themselves tell of their lives on the mound and their world. A atmospheric walk through 600 years of history awaits you among the stones.
Follow a light path through the burial ground and watch for figures appearing in the dusk. From Norse mythology, draugr, giants and troll-folk also come to inhabit the night. Upon arrival, the völva welcomes you with warnings about the darkness's powers and three protective runes that may guide you.
Along the way, you meet people from different periods of the mound's history as a burial site. They share knowledge of their lives, beliefs and burial practices. You also gain insight into the stones that still stand on the site – from triangles and circles to impressive ship-shapes. The special atmosphere makes this an unforgettable evening for the whole family.
Duration is 30 minutes. Tickets are purchased for time slots at 5:00–5:30 PM, 5:30–6:00 PM, 7:00–7:30 PM or 7:30–8:00 PM. The museum café offers coffee and cake. Practical footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended. If the experience becomes too spooky, the völva can provide a protective light and a protective verse, so the thunder god Thor watches over you.
