An evening combining wine discovery with in-depth lectures on migration and integration. Two researchers illuminate important perspectives on what happens when people cross borders and how community ties are formed.
Themes
- Voices from Silence: Anja Simonsen follows the search of those left behind for their missing family members on the path towards Europe. The lecture addresses the human consequences of irregular migration, identification of deceased migrants, and forensic work.
- Integration through Volunteering: Hans-Peter Y. Qvist presents research on immigrants' and their descendants' participation in Danish associational life and voluntary work—both opportunities and barriers to integration.
