Prostate Cancer Association PROPA invites to an open dialogue meeting exploring how general practitioners, as men's "own" doctors, can play a central role for patients with prostate cancer. The meeting highlights the importance of early diagnosis, treatment, and psychological and social support, as well as how the healthcare system can reduce deaths among the approximately 50,000 Danish men living with the disease.
The meeting begins with five-minute presentations from doctors, municipal politicians, and association representatives, including specialist physician Jens Tilma, consultant Marianne Mulle Jensen, Health Council Chairman Mogens Chr. Gade, and members of the Regional Council and Parliament. After a brief break, discussion continues with all participants.
The meeting marks this year's Danish Prostate Cancer Day and is expected to conclude around 9 p.m. The organizer is Prostate Cancer Association PROPA, a nationwide patient organization founded in 2000.
